Sharing Comics With My Neighbor To The North

This weekend I took my first international excursion to the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival in Vancouver, B.C.  and what a time it was! What follows is a little photo log of the events that took place:

My table setup…

Alongside Everett Patterson, creator of Savage Nobles In The Land of Enchantment, with whom I shared my table. Regular readers of Garage Raja would not go wrong to give his work a read. It’s about a punk band who get lost in New Mexico, where, among other things, they find hippie communes, secret government bases, and strange journeys of the spirit!

This is Draeden, I did a bit of artwork for Draeden many years ago for a  story called Monsterminators, which featured a monster exterminating wolf-man in army fatigues.  We’ve kept some correspondence since then and he journeyed his way over to Vancouver to meet me and other artists at VanCAF.  He is an extremely gracious man who gifted me with loads of things, not the least of which was a box of chocolate cookies only found in Canada.  They were delicious, I ate all of them.  Thanks Draeden!

Here’s a sample of some of the free sketch cards I was giving out to the wonderful people who came by and got a copy of Garage Raja Album 1.

And this is the result of an art trade I did with Jeff Ellis of Teach English In Japan!

One of the coolest sketch requests I’ve ever received.

And this was about how I was feeling at the end of the day on Sunday.  I met a lot of great people, but boy, that’ll take it out of you.
Thanks Canada for your open arms and hospitality, and thank you to everybody who came by, you all made this weekend
one for the records!
