Take Down 4:09

Just got back from NOLA Comic-con and…what an interesting time that was. NOLA seemed to be an event full of jovial highs and crushing lows. You see, the thing about comic conventions is they attract all sorts of people, that’s really what they’re best at doing, and there’s a specific type of person that predominates these convention halls. The best name we’ve come to dub them is “Carni-Folk.” And who are these “Carni-Folk” you ask? Only the most despicable scumbags around. Lanky, decrepit, middle-aged men who leer at passing women-folk with the most outward displays of lust you can imagine. Toy-sellers, imploding in on themselves by the sheer weight of their cynicism and self-loathing. The freakishly devoted, who have no other thought in their mind save their bizarre masturbatory comic book fantasies.

Fortunately, it wasn’t all a horror show.

For all you folks who came out to buy our books and prints, came out to the table to say hello, to check out our work and engage in succinct/sane conversation; we thank you. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you, because it made up for a lot of the crap that came with this con.

Also: kid who got a kick out of my Darkseid doodle, you know who you are, you were the best, you’re probably the only true kid left.

Also Also: Rob Guillory, thanks for trading books with us. I shall be reading Chew very soon.
