The Case Of The Unknown Song

“This tale begins about three weeks back when I and the Investors (Jace, the elder, and Taylor, the younger) embarked on a journey around the whole of Lake Charles to photograph it’s scenic parks and playgrounds. Jace, the elder, needed these photographs for a presentation he was creating in participation with the City. The City needed these pictures, because the City no longer desired that its efforts languish in obscurity and Jace is the City’s spokesperson, its greatest advocate second only to the Mayor himself.

After discovering the barricaded compound of the Tank Farms and their waste management facility, we ventured on towards a park of unknown whereabouts. When, with sudden terror, the radio was newly ablaze with a coarse synthetic tune. The song awoke something in Jace, he was stricken by its strange and haunting sound. I was ordered to pay attention to the lyrics that I might remember them for later edification.

The day passed and we discovered many great mysteries in the city, including a DS Lite whose screen was scratched beyond usability. It was sadly laid to rest.

The next day we searched for Jace’s song in vain, it could not be remembered. Cursing, we searched Youtube and listened to countless lists of “Top 80’s Songs.” All of them sucked.

Especially this one.

Waiting For A Star To Fall…

Once again, we were defeated by the unknowable. “Boy Meets Girl” stuck in my head, I slowly sank into insanity, the twilight hours of my rest haunted by sentimental feel-good Commerce Pop.

Many weeks past and the Unknown Song disappeared from our minds.

Then one day as I was working, inking the Second Album of “Garage Raja,” I was abruptly awakened from my Ink-Stupor by the same coarse synthetic sound. It was the song, I knew it! I was listening to Radio Paradise at the time, so I was certain that some way I would be able to retrieve information on the song…and I did!

New Order- True Faith

This is actually the first time I’ve ever seen the video for it. I’m very sorry you had to see that.”
